Challenges

Vietnam’s burgeoning circular economy presents exciting opportunities, with new markets emerging for eco-friendly goods and sustainable investments. However, effectively transitioning to a circular economy requires a collaborative effort and a deep understanding of Vietnam’s unique cultural and economic context. To address this need, CL2B’s annual Vietnam Circular Economy in Action (VCEA) event series showcases circular economy implementation, opportunities, and innovation, bringing together key public and private sector stakeholders. In addition to the conference, VCEA 2024 featured an art exhibition and a podcast series.

The Vietnam Circular Economy in Action (VCEA) conference, specifically, sought to address this broader challenge by providing a platform for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and community engagement. VCEA 2024 brought together business leaders, experts, and policymakers to advance the circular economy in Vietnam. The conference facilitated insightful discussions on key topics such as localization, the critical path of circularity, and the need for collective action to drive meaningful change.

Beyond traditional conference formats, VCEA 2024 actively engaged the public through collaborations with local artists, showcasing the power of art to inspire sustainable practices. The conference also featured two impactful community initiatives: the “Scrap Species” exhibition, which highlighted the importance of recycling and responsible waste management, and the “Circular Momentum” podcast series, which provided a platform for insightful discussions on the circular economy with leaders in sustainable development. A key branding challenge for VCEA was to create a visual identity that not only represented the core concept of circularity but also could be consistently applied across these diverse program elements.

Solution

xolve partnered with CL2B to develop a compelling visual identity that would capture the essence of the circular economy. The logo features two interconnected circles, formed by multiple rectangles representing the micro-forms of various materials, symbolizing the continuous cycle of resource use and regeneration. The rounded wordmark complements this theme, reinforcing the idea of interconnectedness and closed loops. One of the challenges xolve addressed was extending this visual language across the key visuals for different VCEA programs, ensuring a consistent and impactful brand experience.

Now in its third year, VCEA continues to be a driving force for circularity in Vietnam. The conference fosters collaboration, sparks innovation, and strengthens Vietnam’s commitment to a more sustainable future. By engaging communities, facilitating impactful conversations, and showcasing inspiring initiatives, VCEA is helping to shape a future where economic growth and environmental responsibility go hand-in-hand.
